Well, as an a tempt of bringing revolution to the gaming industry a friend of my (digitalerr0r) have created Grillsimulator 2008 for xbox (which translate to BBQ Simulator 2008). I got the glorious task of creating game music.. in under 5 hours.. (dang.. i love rush).. so i create The BBQ Song together with my wife.

Not too much to say about it, the ahh’ing is done by Maria. I like the touch. But i am not that satisfied with the whole composition. but instead of starting over, i finished the track, so i can start over with blank sheets.

The drums are heavy done on the emu, the same with all the bases. Mostly nova sampled direct into the emu.

Well, stuff have happend lately. I haven’t been too good on updating this blog.. but then.. who is reading this blog after all :P.

the Roland MC-909 have arrived in house. And I must say its a fun tool and instrument to work with.. making beats goes very easy.. and the sampling part, which is miles away from the emu, have some very nice features. The sample chopping feature is just a dream to work with.. it chops your sample into as many part you like and map it up to the pads on the mc.. thats something i have been dreaming for on the emu for long time :).

The synth engine is a full blown fantom engine, which can be programmed in all details. The filters is typical roland.. nothing special.. but sounds good. btw.. if you are a mc 909 owner.. sign this petrition: http://www.PetitionOnline.com/rolandjp/petition.html

The last weekend during this easter, i have been making two realy fast tracks.. one for a fast intro for TG 08 (www.gathering.org), and another one for combined demo for TG 08. The combined demo gained a third place, which is the best place our demo group have gotten in that categorty.

new track out.. this time its kind of chillout. I have been using the emu MUCH on this track.. so much that i have lost the overview!

i use the emu for:
Pads, leads, arps, “flute”, drums and other stuff i dont know

to nail it i recorded the whole track to the emu and then exported the sample

I also used the rfx card on the emu for processing AU instrument from logic. (the piano, which is EXS24 with holy grail piano, converted from emu format)

Anyway.. enjoy!

 As a correction.. in stead of calling it higen feat. bla bla.. we named the group Vandetta (dont ask why.. ).

Its been some small changes to the drums. minor stuff.   I consider the track as done now

Okay.. a new track is up. its called bitter taste, the lyrics are preformed by my wife, Maria.

Bitter Taste Lyrics:

Techincal:
1. layer Bass track is made by novation nova, sampled down to emu then threated.
2. layer bass track is made with v-station prosessed through a presonus tubepre (tube preamp).

Vocals are maria, with auto-tune turned hard on, to get the characteristically sound.

Pads are absynth4 and the build in es2.

Piano are holy grail emu samples piano converted to esx24.

Drums are all and alone emu, with all the glory.

My wife is responsible for the Ahhing in the background.  Beats and stuff are made, sampled and messed up on the emu.  bass is from a nova which is sampled down to the emu for special threate.    Voice sample are taken from the beach.  pads are from creamware lightwave and zarge orion custom 3 synth.

New track done its my first track made with the emu.. and i had a killer time

Genre:  Drum & Bass

Drums:  Emu drumkit (self sampled)

Bass: Emu, sampled from my Nova, layred and fixed in emu.  Used RFX compressor.

Sweet & Pads: Emu, sampled from my Nova, layred and fixed.  Used RFX reverb.

Rhodes: Premade emu sample (it was on my harddisk :P)

Other synth sound: Juno 106 emulator from my Creamware card.

Feedback are welcome.   It was a blast making the track.. its not eq-ed on the bottom.. so don’t play it too loud on crappy pc speakers..
