DJ – Fathir :)
The other day i actually came across a news that told me that google had released its old search-index from 2001.
So i took a dive and searched for my old nick/artist name, which was Dj Fathir
I took the name, because it sounded goaish.. and all the cool trance duds had "dj" in their name.. which i didn't understood was because they actually where dj's.
As for me, i had never touched a turntable or a dj mixer.. (which is also the current status of my dj career)
The Tracks are not downloadable, but i should have them somewhere around, so please feel free to request them
You can find DJ Fathir tracks at the music archive
Higen – Beyond the Millenium part 2

The BBQ Song
Well, as an a tempt of bringing revolution to the gaming industry a friend of my (digitalerr0r) have created Grillsimulator 2008 for xbox (which translate to BBQ Simulator 2008). I got the glorious task of creating game music.. in under 5 hours.. (dang.. i love rush).. so i create The BBQ Song together with my wife.

Vandetta – Sticky Pineapple
New track out.
Not too much to say about it, the ahh'ing is done by Maria. I like the touch. But i am not that satisfied with the whole composition. but instead of starting over, i finished the track, so i can start over with blank sheets.
The drums are heavy done on the emu, the same with all the bases. Mostly nova sampled direct into the emu.

Korg Z1 – Vangelis twist
Well.. after gotten som inspration on youtube, i wanted to check out how the korg z1 would do the vangelis lead used in chariots of fire and blade runner (you know.. the yummyha cs80 lead
)..
anyway.. here is what i got after probably a hour work
2 OSC using saw, with a slight detune from each other.
vibrato LFO on the patch to get it swinging. filter envelope and amp. envelope.
using serial filter in the z1. maybe i will try the same on the nova, to se how it does the sound.
Korg Z1
Well.. long time no see.. stuff have happend..
one of the thing is that i traded in the MC909 against a korg Z1.. why you might as!
because the sampler part (which was the main reason for getting it) was to simple for me.. i need something in the emu league... Akai mpc whould probably do it.. but the price is out of reach.. PLUSS i wanted a good keyboard to push.
Anyway.. here is a patch i dialed up while playing with the korg z1.. and i must admit that this synth is rather impressive.. you can do so much.. and it has such a big sound range!
Emu showoff..
Well.. i made this hiphop loop in like 15 min out of a loop i sampled from 5 first sec of REM - I'll take the rain. It was made to convince a friend that he should get a sampler (emu)
.
so the loop is heavy threated with peak shelf filter.
The beat is created on a mc 909, then sampled down as a loop to the emu, where all the magic happends.. bitcruch, AXiter, more stuff i dont remember.. cus it happends so fast
A small update
Well, stuff have happend lately. I haven't been too good on updating this blog.. but then.. who is reading this blog after all
.
the Roland MC-909 have arrived in house. And I must say its a fun tool and instrument to work with.. making beats goes very easy.. and the sampling part, which is miles away from the emu, have some very nice features. The sample chopping feature is just a dream to work with.. it chops your sample into as many part you like and map it up to the pads on the mc.. thats something i have been dreaming for on the emu for long time
.
The synth engine is a full blown fantom engine, which can be programmed in all details. The filters is typical roland.. nothing special.. but sounds good. btw.. if you are a mc 909 owner.. sign this petrition: http://www.PetitionOnline.com/rolandjp/petition.html
The last weekend during this easter, i have been making two realy fast tracks.. one for a fast intro for TG 08 (www.gathering.org), and another one for combined demo for TG 08. The combined demo gained a third place, which is the best place our demo group have gotten in that categorty.
on psy-works.net (one of my old domains), have some people from emusonacid.co.uk forum started a sharing site for old sample cd's that arnt in marked anymore. We don't want to have a warez profile, so we try make sure its not available in any webshop/stores.
Check it out on psy-works.net
If you download, please leave a comment about the quality

Well.. due to my bad economy, i have agreed with a nice guy to trade some gear.
he gets from me
Korg AM8000R ![]()
Korg M1r
Line 6 FilterPro
Presonus TubePre
I gets a MC 909 from him.
I HOPE it will work as a creative sketchpad for creating fast beats and other sweet stuff. Since its also a sampler aswell as a groovebox.. it can be covering large fields. but i havent forgot my emu.. which will still be my main sampler.. i cant imagine that the mc909 will beat the sound of emu..
one idea i have is to create up the beat on the mc909.. the maybe slice it down and then recorde it over to the emu, before sequencing it into logic?
